What is Tapping and how does it work?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping is a holistic healing method that combines the principles of cognitive psychology and Chinese acupuncture: Except we use tapping on meridian points of the body (acupressure) instead, as sticking needles into yourself when you’re out and about in the world can be rather inconvenient.
It involves gently tapping on specific meridian points on the body, such as the face, collarbone, and under the arms, while focusing on a particular issue, thought, or emotion, in order to address and reduce the intensity of that emotion.
By pairing the tapping with verbal affirmations or focusing on the problem, EFT can be used for stress relief, anxiety, trauma, and even physical ailments, promoting emotional well-being and self-healing.
Taking this to the next level, I use the Echo Tapping technique to uncover the root causes of recurring unwanted emotions, such as anxiety, which often stem from unresolved events in earlier life.
By revisiting these past situations, working together with your younger self to set or enforce boundaries, resolve unfinished conversations, have conversations again with your now adult words and wisdom, or kick some butt, you can significantly reduce the intensity and frequency of the unwanted emotions, while removing triggers from your daily life. The memories remain, but their emotional charge or triggering nature is greatly diminished, allowing you to feel lighter, freer and more at peace.
